How'd ya do it?
level: intermediate

Here is a short excerpt from The Eagles' "Hotel California"*, as an mp3.

The first two bars are unchanged. Then the band - except for the bass - starts playing in different keys... but the vocal and bass remains in the original key.
Now, this song was recorded in 1976, and I don't have access to the original multitracks. My only source was the stereo CD re-release "Eagles Greatest Hits 2". So I couldn't process the band's tracks separately.
But I obviously did. If you've figured out how, drop me a note and I'll tell you if you're right.

NOTE: This effect works best in stereo.

I'm assuming Fair Use because this is a tutorial, the solution to this puzzle actually reveals a lot about how The Eagles recorded this particular song, and it's only a short excerpt. But if the copyright holders have a problem, let me know and I'll remove it.)
